I LOVE easy, cute DIY projects! Who doesn't?! One trend I adore is Fabric Wall Art! Cute, affordable, easy!

A TRIPLE THREAT project!

This one? I am in love.  Vintage Pull down map, fabric hoop art, teal side table, colorful afghan. YES. PLEASE!

My very own DIY Contributor, Jenna gave it a go & the floral fabrics she picked are too cute!

Wednesday with Jenna: DIY Mini Cake Stand & Linky Party

8.22.2012

Jenna, my lovely friend & new DIY contributor is back this week for another 'Wednesday with Jenna' DIY tutorial!

In case you missed last weeks tutorial, go check out how to make a super cute necklace holder!

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Card stock/scrapbooking paper
  • Heart shaped paper punch
  • Glitter
  • Candle Holder/Vase
  • Plate
  • Cake cover lid

I went to goodwill and for only $3 I bought an old candle holder, a plate, and a cake cover lid. They didn't have the bottom part, but that worked perfectly for this project!

I cleaned all the glass pieces really good and started to punch out little hearts from a variety of scrapbook paper.  You can see all the colorful hearts in the bottom & that's such a fun added touch!  I also sprinkled some glitter in with the hearts for good measure!

I used the hot glue gun to glue a piece of lace like paper on top of the base so when you place the plate on it, you can't see the glue marks. Then I hot glued the glass plate on top of the candle holder to act as a base for the cake to sit on.

Then because everyone needs more glitter in their life, I glued glitter all over the cake lid handle!

Now all you need is a little cutie like this one to dig in!

Wednesday with Jenna: DIY Necklace Holder

8.01.2012

Jenna, my awesome friend & new DIY contributor is back today with another pretty & functional DIY tutorial!

In case you missed last weeks tutorial, go check out how to make a super cute makeup organizer for $6!

What you need:

  • Any type of scrap wood
  • Vintage (or new) knobs
  • Screws
  • Wall hanger
  • Pretty Necklaces

♥ Step 1: Pick out any door knobs that you would want to use. I found mine at an antique store. JoAnn Fabrics has some really nice ones too. Line them up on the wood to where you want to scew them in. I marked mine with a pencil so I wouldn't lose track of where I wanted them.

♥ Step 2: Get your screw driver & screw in the back of the door knob to the wood. Repeat until you have all your door knobs on.

♥ Step 3: Once all of your door knobs are screwed in the wood get the wall hanger & screw that in the back of the wood so you can easily hang it up!

This is a very easy & fun DIY project that makes a good gift! I left my barn siding the way it was but painting it would look great as well!

Step 1: Go to the Dollar Store & head to the utensil isle & get three silver trays. 2 wine glasses and if you want 1 regular glass. = $6 total

♥ Step 2: Heat up your hot glue gun or get super glue. In the mean time, you can clean the trays & glasses off really good with hot water & Windex

♥ Step 3: Take the top of the wine glass & place your glue on the rim & stem of the glass and place the wine glass upside down on the first tray. Repeat for the second layer & for the third regular glass on the top tray. That glass is great for Brushes, Mascara & Eyeliner!

♥ Step 4: Place whatever you want on the trays. It's cute for makeup or jewelry!

♥ Such an EASY & CHEAP way to create your own makeup organizer. ♥
