In My Mailbox

12.08.2010

The Story Siren does a weekly feature called
"In My Mailbox"
where you can share what books you have
received that
particular week via your mailbox/library/store bought etc!

Fun right?!

That's what I thought,
so here are the books I received this week
that I can't wait to read:

First is Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
I came across this book while reading Cutie's Corner.

Here is Goodreads description:
"Amy Curry thinks her life sucks. Her mom decides to move from California to Connecticut to start anew—just in time for Amy's senior year. Her dad recently died in a car accident. So Amy embarks on a road trip to escape from it all, driving cross-country from the home she's always known toward her new life. Joining Amy on the road trip is Roger, the son of Amy's mother's old friend. Amy hasn’t seen him in years, and she is less than thrilled to be driving across the country with a guy she barely knows. So she's surprised to find that she is developing a crush on him. At the same time, she’s coming to terms with her father’s death and how to put her own life back together after the accident. Told in traditional narrative as well as scraps from the road—diner napkins, motel receipts, postcards—this is the story of one girl's journey to find herself."
The second is Dark Fever (#1 in Fever Series) by Karen Marie Moning.
I got interested in this book while reading Danny's post.

Goodreads Description:

"MacKayla Lane’s life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she’s your perfectly ordinary twenty-first-century woman. Or so she thinks…until something extraordinary happens.

When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death–a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone–Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae…."

And last is The Iron King (#1 in The Iron Fey Series) by Julie Kagawa.
I decided this was a must read series when I read Danny's post.

Goodreads Description:

"Meghan Chase has a secret destiny—one she could never have imagined…

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change."

I Can't wait to get started on them!
(I'm still deciding which one to pick first)
